Travelers Raking in UK Bargains This Season
Let’s face it, we rabid bargain hunters can’t resist a good gloat now and then over the money we’ve saving–especially this year, with the US dollar buying 25% more than in 2008. VisitBritain and Virgin Atlantic have quantified some of the savings in London: A pint of beer at the Dove riverside pub was $6 last year, $4.50 now. Afternoon tea at the Orangery, Kensington Gardens, was $24.46; now, $18.34. And an adult entrance fee to the Tower of London was $33, now $24.75. Let us revel in our bargains!
